Promasidor Ghana takes time out to appreciate its sales and marketing staff

The annual Appreciation Day of the Sales and Marketing department of Promasidor Ghana was held on Saturday 6th October, 2012, with its aim to appreciate and motivate hard-working staff as well as reunite colleagues of the company at a beach resort near Accra.

The day began early with the entire team of 150 people making the 30-minute bus trip to the venue for the event. Breakfast was first and then a short conference session followed. During the session, Festus Tettey gave some insight into the performance of the team for the first three quarters. He also touched on the team's mission, vision and theme for the year as a reminder to team members.

Olivier Thiry was next with a brief statement in which he commended the hard work of everyone in the team in achieving the milestone of a 1000-tonne volume in a single month. He asked the team to keep working hard, stay focused and continue to deliver a sterling performance.

Immediately after the addresses, came the highlight of the day: the Outstanding Performance awards. Eight members of the team were awarded for the outstanding quality of work done during the year in categories such as the Best Sales Rep, Best Events and Promotions team member and a special award for Most Selfless. Recipients of the awards were pleasantly surprised and some more than a little emotional as they stepped up to receive a beautiful plaque, a wristwatch and a customised African shirt to the raucous cheers of their colleagues.

Once the awards were over, team members were ferried by boat across a lagoon to the beautiful beach front for games and leisure, which would last the rest of the day. Sales and marketing gentlemen and ladies promptly discarded their footwear as everyone found some activity of their pleasure from beach volleyball to soccer to the assault course challenge. Others simply bathed in the sea or lay under one of the many Cowbell beach umbrellas drinking in the marvellous scenery.
